A large number of voters residing in the capital city have returned to their home villages to cast ballot in the second Constituent Assembly (CA) election due on Tuesday. Hundreds of people thronged various bus stops in Kathmandu despite a nationwide transport strike called by CPN-Maoist-led 33- party alliances. With just two days to go before the elections, transport firms have said that they are ready to carry the passengers home if the government provides security in the rural areas. Some party candidates have managed to woo the voters by providing transportation facilities for them to go home. People are enthusiastic for the November 19 election despite the parties' failure to agree on a new constitution and deliver the development to them. "I want to go home to vote because it is my right but security situation is worse," Ramesh Dhakal from western Nepal told Xinhua. Home Ministry has said that they are providing security to the people who want to go their villages for casting the votes. As there is shortage of transportation, passengers are compelled to pay more fare to travel to their villages. "I am paying double fare to go home. Election is a historic opportunity so I want to go home," Surendra Karki said. Nepal is holding the second CA election in five years with a purpose of drafting a new constitution to replace the interim constitution 2007.
