A law that revises Nevada's definition of a concealed weapon is headed to the state Assembly after unanimously passing the Nevada Senate. The bill, sponsored by state Sen. James Settelmeyer, redefines a concealed weapon as a "handgun" and permits a person to get one concealed weapon permit for multiple handguns, the Las Vegas Sun reported Tuesday. It also requires a firearms safety training course before a permit can be issued. Nevada's current law defines a concealed weapon as a loaded or unloaded pistol, revolver or other firearm. The proposed law would prevent an individual from sawing down a weapon. Settelmeyer said the legislation was not a reaction to recent mass shooting incidents.
