
The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) congratulated the Tunisian people on the ratification of the new constitution, saying it represents an essential step in Tunisia’s political transition likely to bring new political, economic and social achievements for the Tunisian people. In a statement posted Wednesday on its website, the UfM paid tribute to the outstanding work by members of the National Constituent Assembly, with the support of all political forces in Tunisia. The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean also stated its commitment to supporting the Tunisian government in this milestone in its history and its willingness to back its social and economic development efforts.
