A new industrial zone for textile industries will be established soon in the Upper Egyptian governorate of Minya.
To this end, Minya Governor Tarek Nasr received an official investment delegation to start the required measures for the mega project, to be set up on an area of 306 feddans.
Mohamed Qassem, the deputy chairman of textile industries’ council at the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) said the new investment will be implemented in cooperation with China, in accordance with a protocol that had been recently signed.
The project is aimed at regaining Egypt’s position as an African hub for textile trade, he said, noting that Destination Africa was the name adopted for a new initiative by his council to serve this target.
The new initiative will be launched during an international conference and exhibition, planned to be held in November, he added
