Nicosia District Court’s decree to extradite Seif Eldin Mustafa to Egypt asserts the world’s confidence in Egyptian judiciary.
Earlier, Nicosia District Court approved an application by the Egyptian authorities to extradite Seif Eldin Mustafa to Egypt to stand trial in connection with the hijacking of an Egyptian Airways aircraft on March 29, 2016 at Larnaka International Airport, Cyprus News Agency reported.
The Court was not convinced by the evidence presented that Mustafa will be prosecuted for his political views and accepted his testimony for committing the offence.
The Court also took into consideration assurances by the Egyptian authorities that he will receive a fair trial and his rights will be safeguarded.
