"The profound political changes in several Arab countries resulted in the deterioration of relations between the security officers and the citizens," pointed out Secretary-General of the Arab Interior Ministers' Council Mohamed Ben Ali Koumen, who explained that this degradation is the consequence of some security officers' non-compliance with the normal procedures when enforcing the law and their disregard of human rights. During the 9th Arab congress of information security structures' officials held on Wednesday, Mr. Koumen said that the improvement of relations between the citizen and the security officer depends on the dissemination of the culture of human rights, on guaranteeing abidance by the law and the ethics of the profession, and a police that respects society. The agenda of this congress includes the discussion of several themes, notably: "Role of New Technologies in Success of Security Information Mission," "Media Dealing with Crime and Violence and their Impact on Society," "Means to Fight Media Manipulation" and the initiative to create an Arab fund for financing security information in fighting terrorism.
