No missile attack on Iran embassy in Beirut

An informed Iranian source has denied a report about a missile attack near Iran's Embassy in the Lebanese capital city of Beirut, Press TV reported Friday. The informed source in the Iranian Embassy, who spoke to IRNA New Agency on condition of anonymity, rejected a report by Lebanese TV news network, al-Jadeed, on Friday that claimed a missile had struck near the embassy but did not explode. Some media reports also said the primer of a mortal shell, left from the time when southern Lebanon was under the Israeli occupation, went off in a neighborhood near the Iranian embassy. On November 19, two blasts outside Iran Embassy in the southern neighborhood of Janah in Beirut left at least 25 people dead, including six Iranian nationals, and wounded over 150 others. According to reports, the first explosion took place when a bomber blew his explosives near the gate of the embassy, and the second blast happened just meters away when a car bomb went off. An al-Qaeda-linked group, Abdullah Azzam Brigades, claimed responsibility for the twin bombings.
