No Russian special forces in Egypt

The Russian Defense Ministry denied reports by Reuters news agency which cited unnamed US sources that Russia deployed forces to an airbase in Egypt near the Libyan border, Sputnik News Agency reported.
"There are no Russian special forces in Egypt. Certain Western media have been stirring the public with such mud-slinging from anonymous sources for years," Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said.
Earlier in the day, Vladimir Dzhabarov, first deputy chairman of the Federation Council's Committee for International Affairs, told Sputnik that Russia has not sent military specialists to an airbase in Egypt.
