Norwegian PM condemns deadly attack in Kenya

Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg on Friday condemned the deadly attack at Garissa University College in Kenya that has claimed 148 lives.
"It is with shock and sadness I have received the terrible news of the incomprehensible attack at Garissa University College. I wish to express my full solidarity with Kenya at this painful time," Solberg said in a letter to Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta.
She said Norway "condemns in the strongest possible terms" the deadly attack in Kenya that took place on Thursday and "remains on your side in the fight against the scourge of terrorism."
"On behalf of the Norwegian government, please accept my deepest condolences to the families of all the innocent victims of this despicable attack and my heartfelt sympathy and support to the injured," Solberg said.
The attack, which was claimed by Al-Qaida-linked Al-Shabaab fighters, is Kenya's deadliest attack since the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings.
Kenya's Interior Minister Joseph Nkaissery said on Friday the death toll of the attack at Garissa University College rose to 148, including 142 students, 3 policemen and 3 soldiers from Kenya Defense Forces.
The four attackers from Al-Shabaab were all killed during the rescue operation, the official confirmed.
