
The number of Syrian refugees who crossed into the Kingdom since the start of the crisis in their country has risen to 587,461, according to an informed source at the Syrian refugee affairs administration.The source said that a total of 136,024 refugees are currently present in the camps at Zaatari, Mreijib Al Fhoud and in King Abdullah Park, the Cyber City and Manshiyat Al Elayan.According to the source, a total of 471 refugees crossed into Jordan due to the continuing violence in their country, while 67 others returned voluntarily to their country.The source said that the continued flow of Syrian refugees is placing an increasing pressure on the Kingdom’s various sectors, and urged donor countries to shoulder their responsibilities towards the refugees to alleviate their suffering.
