Obama, Saudi King discuss Iran deal

US President Barack Obama made a call to King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, discussing a host of issues relating to the Middle East. According to a White House statement, Obama shared the details of the first step agreement of the P5+1 (UN Permanent 5 + Germany) with Iran regarding its nuclear program, "reaffirming the importance of Iran following through on its commitments." The leaders agreed to discuss the P5+1's efforts on a regular basis, as the group moves "to negotiate a comprehensive solution that would resolve the international community's concerns regarding Iran's nuclear program." Obama concluded the conversation by reaffirming America's support for "friends and allies in the Gulf."
