Obama, South Korea's Lee discuss Kim's death

US President Barack Obama and South Korea's President Lee Myung-Bak spoke by telephone Monday and agreed on close national security coordination after North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il died, the White House said. "The President reaffirmed the United States' strong commitment to the stability of the Korean peninsula and the security of our close ally, the Republic of Korea," the White House said in a statement.
