U.S. President Barack Obama spoke with U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron by telephone Friday as part of their continuing consultations on the situation in Syria, the White House said. According to a statement from the White House, Obama and Cameron agree that the use of chemical weapons on a suburb of Damascus on August 21 by the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was "unacceptable and cannot be tolerated." "The President and Prime Minister agreed to continue to consult closely on Syria and the broad range of security challenges that our two countries face together," White House said.
