Obama to visit Asia in April

US President Barack Obama will travel to Asia in upcoming April, National Security Adviser Susan Rice said Wednesday. "I am pleased to announce today that President Obama will return to Asia this coming April to continue to strengthen our ties," Rice said at a Georgetown University event on "America's Future in Asia." In October, Obama had to postpone his scheduled trip to Indonesia for the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in Bali, a separate Asia security summit in Brunei, as well as the stops in Malaysia and the Philippines due to a 16-day government shutdown caused by a budget impasse in the Congress. "We don't have further details to share at this point, including on which countries he'll visit," Rice said, "but we'll make more information available closer to April.
