
The Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani, has strongly condemned the bus attack in Karachi, Pakistan, on 13 May 13 resulting in a toll of 45 dead and some other wounded people.
Madani described the act as barbaric and unjustifiable under any pretext. The Secretary General expressed his deep condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the people and government of Pakistan. He also prayed for the quick recovery of the injured.
Madani called on the concerned authorities to bring the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice. He also called on all the components of the Pakistani society for solidarity and to unite against any attempt aiming at fueling sectarian frictions in the country.
