Iran’s Ambassador to the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hamid Reza Dehqani underlined the need for holding the organization’s emergency meeting on the Holy Qods. He told IRNA on Sunday that following the decision of the Zionist regime’s Knesset to declare the Holy Qods as the regime’s capital city, Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi sent a letter to the OIC chief Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, urging him to hold an emergency foreign ministerial meeting on the issue. He noted that Iran called for formation of the “Qods” committee in the organization. Dehqani said Iran’s approach towards the Islamic world issues, which is based on the need for further solidarity and unity among Muslim states, has enhanced Iran’s role in the organization.
