
Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, received on Thursday Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council, within the framework of his current official visit to Pakistan as per invitation of Chairman of the Pakistani Senate.
During the meeting, the Pakistani Prime Minister welcomed Dr Al Mantheri and his accompanying delegation.
He stressed the strong friendship relations binding the two friendly countries, looking forward that the visit of the Omani delegation would contribute in enhancing the cooperation relations between the two countries in all areas.
On his turn, Dr Al Mantheri thanked the Pakistani Prime Minister for the warm welcome, drawing the attention towards the strong relations binding the Sultanate and Pakistan, and the keenness of both sides to promote them in the economic, trade, political and parliamentary fields to serve the joint interests.
The meeting reviewed means of enhancing the cooperation relations between the two sides in a way that meets aspirations of the two countries’ leaderships and their friendly peoples.
The meeting was attended by members of the delegation accompanying Chairman of the State Council and a number of Pakistani officials.
Meanwhile, an official session of talks was held between the Sultanate under Dr Al Mantheri and of Pakistan under Mian Raza, Chairman of the Pakistani Senate to discuss means of enhancing the parliamentary cooperation between the two friendly countries.
The Chairman of the Pakistani Senate commended the deep relations binding the two friendly countries, stressing his country’s keenness to promote the cooperation relations with the Sultanate in all areas.
