A civilian was killed and five others wounded Saturday in separate gunfire and bombing attacks in and west of Baghdad, the police said. Two gunmen in a car opened fire from their assault rifles at civilians in the town of Ameriyat al-Fallujah near the city of Fallujah, some 50 km west of the Baghdad, killing one person and wounding another before they fled the scene, a source from the provincial operations command told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. Iraqi security forces cordoned off the scene and carried out a search operation in the area and arrested two suspects for interrogation, the source said. In Baghdad, four civilians were wounded when a roadside bomb went off near a police patrol in al-Jamia district in western the capital, an Interior Ministry source anonymously told Xinhua.Insurgent attacks continue in the once volatile districts in western Baghdad as well as the areas that stretches through Anbar province to Iraq's western borders with Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
