An Islamabad foreign ministry spokesman reiterated the necessity of regional partnership for Afghan security, but meantime underlined that Iran plays a unique role in the establishment of durable peace, security and stability in the war-torn country. "Establishing sustainable security and stability in Afghanistan is impossible without Iran's role," Pakistan's Foreign Office Spokesman Abdul Basit said. "To establish security and reinvigorate Afghanistan, Iran must be given due attention and must be trusted, because pushing the trend of peace and establishing durable security and stability without Iran's partnership is impossible," he added. Iran and Afghanistan enjoy expanding ties and cooperation and observers believe that the good achievements gained in area of their mutual cooperation should be deemed as a result of the efforts made by the two countries' officials. Iran is one of the most important donors to Afghanistan which has kept its promises to help to the reconstruction of the war-hit country. Iran has built some roads, power transmission lines, and border stations, among the other infrastructure projects which would better link the two nations.
