Pakistan's national assembly passes resolution to support Kashmir issue

The National Assembly of Pakistan on Tuesday unanimously adopted a resolution moved by Chairman Kashmir Committee, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and resolved to continue moral, political and diplomatic support for inalienable right to self-determination to Kashmiri people, said an official press release.The Lower House adopted the resolution on the occasion when preparations are in full swing to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day across the country and in disputed Kashmir on February 5th.The resolution said, "This House resolves that the Kashmir issue should be resolved according to UN resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people. Struggle of Kashmiri people is just and needs attention of international community." The resolution demanded the international community and the United Nations to hold free, fair and impartial plebiscite to facilitate Kashmiri people to decide about their future. The National Assembly also urged the Indian government to include representatives of Kashmiri people in dialogue between Pakistan and India, as they are real stakeholders in the Kashmir issue.The House also demanded from the Indian government to ensure right to self-determination to Kashmiri people, free movement and freedom of speech. It was also demanded from India to withdraw troops from held Kashmir; release the prisoners and quash anti-human laws that empower Indian Armed Forces in Kashmir to subjugate innocent Kashmiris.
