Pakistani Ambassador in Cairo Mushtaq Ali Shah said Saturday that his country will support Egypt's bid to obtain a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council.
Egypt is a strategic ally of Pakistan, Shah said in statements to MENA.
Cairo has always supported Islamabad, the diplomat said, adding that his country is now supporting Egypt at international and regional gatherings.
Shah touched upon common challenges, principles and culture.
He said Islamabad trusts the Egyptian leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, who was freely elected by the Egyptian people.
Egypt is a major country with its institutions and strong leadership, Shah added.
He stressed the need to boost strategic partnership between the two countries to serve their common interests.
