Pakistani PM to hold talks with Taliban

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday announced he would form a four-member committee to hold dialogues with Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP).Pakistani premier while addressing a session of the Lower House accepted the invitation of the Taliban to hold a dialogue process and said the government wanted to give peace another chance.He announced that Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan would assist the committee comprising his Advisor on National Affairs Irfan Siddique, Major (Retd) Aamir, renowned journalist Rahimullah Yousafzai and Rustam Shah Mohmand, former Ambassador to Afghanistan and expert on Afghanistan affairs to hold talks with TTP.PM Nawaz asked the terrorists to end acts of violence and come to the negotiating table adding, "The government would not allow the country to be held hostage by terrorists." The Prime Minister referring to the recent wave of terrorist strikes in northern Bannu, Peshawar and Hangu attacks on anti-polio workers, media, minorities and religious scholars and said terrorism has no place in Islam, which was a religion of peace and harmony.Nawaz moreover said that he would personally supervise the performance of the committee and a time frame for the talks will be decided as this progress.
