Pakistan's army chief to visit Russia soon

Pakistan Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani is set to visit Russia in the second week this month, local media said. Official sources said Kayani is scheduled to meet his Russian counterpart and also President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, according to Pakistan's newspaper The Express Tribune. Kayani was set to make this official visit last month, August, yet his meetings with US officials were behind postponing the visit. The visit is considered a significant development as it comes just weeks before the Russian President undertakes his first-ever visit to Islamabad in early October.
