The first session of Pakistan's provincial assembly of northern province Khyber Paktunkhwa (KPK) took place where newly-elected provincial candidates administered oath on Wednesday. The outgoing Speaker of KPK Assembly, Kiramatullah Khan administered the oath to the newly- elected 123 out of 124 members. Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) has won the highest number of seats in the northern province and joined hands with Jamaat I Islami (JI) and Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) to form the government. JI and QWP are to get three ministries each, whereas, PTI would hold the positions of chief minister and speaker in the province to share power to formulate government. The religious political party Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) announced to sit on the opposition benches of KPK. The session was postponed to Thursday 10 am.
