Palestine blasts Israel for demolishing homes in West Bank

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry strongly denounced the Israeli occupation army for demolishing an outpost recently built by Palestinian activists in Al-Awdah village in Al-Aghwar area.The ministry condemned, in a statement on Monday, "the racist repressive practices" by the Israeli forces against the Palestinian activists and foreign sympathizers in Al-Awdah and Ein Hejlah villages."The Israeli occupation authorities cut off the water and power supplies to, and imposed a news blackout on, the two villages, and beefed up the troops there as a prelude to storming the two villages," the statement pointed out."While the Palestinians are trying to reclaim their own land, the occupation authorities razed their homes and cultivations to the ground and scaled up the repressive practices against villagers, including the arbitrary arrests," it regretted.The Ministry urged the international community to respond to the malpractices of the Israeli authorities and help the Palestinian people regain their rights.The Palestinian activities set up the outpost on Saturday and called it Al-Awdah (the return) village, in a bid to resist the escalating settlement constructions in the occupied West Bank and the Jewish settlers' attempt to evict the Palestinian residents form their homes.The name of the outpost bears a reference to the aspired return of the Palestinian refugees to their homeland."The repeated racist aggressions on the Palestinian people and the peaceful activists can only strengthen our resolve to regain our rights and dig in our heels on our own land and sanctities despite connivance of the international community," it stressed.
