Palestine Observer Mission to the United Nations Ambassador Riyad Mansour has announced that he would send a letter to the president of the UN Security Council, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, and the General Assembly President on the recent Israeli escalation against Palestinians, especially in the Gaza Strip. Israeli occupation forces killed and injured around 20 people in the Gaza Strip, dominantly women and children with gunfire, Mansour revealed during a meeting of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP) here last night. The letter will include acts of escalation and provocation as well as the desecration of some churches in the wake of mosque attacks executed by settlers, who are trying to give the conflict a religious tone, Mansour remarked. He pointed out the issuance of an atlas by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) documenting the acts of violence committed by settlers, land confiscation, and checkpoints.
