A host of Palestinian clerics have vehemently condemned Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman's thrust into Al Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron on Sunday.
They further warned that these raids will lead the region into a devastating religious war.
In press statements Sunday, Palestinian Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Sheikh Yousef Adeis condemned the repeated raids by Israeli right-wing parties into Al Ibrahimi Mosque.
He further said that these raids are considered an attempt to use the mosque in an election campaign for the Knesset elections.
These practices are considered the beginning to drag the region into a religious war, he said.
The raid of Al Ibrahimi Mosque by Liberman ignites more hatred, tension and hostility, said Palestinian Endowments Minister Mahmoud el Habash.
Habash urged all institutions and international bodies to put an end to these violations against Islamic sanctities.
