Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Ahmad Qurei has warned Israeli government of approving the construction of 1500 settlements in Al-Quds, a move that has been frozen several years ago over the US criticism.
In a statement released on Monday, Qurei, head of Al-Quds Affairs Committee, slammed the plans, which aims at confiscating further Palestinian lands.
“Israel insists on settlements and challenges the international community, which rejects such measures and aggressive plans,” he said.
“The existence of these settlements is illegal,” he added, reiterating that the removal of settlements is “a condition to achieve the desired and just peace.”
