Palestinian PM urges international community to push forward peace process

Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamadallah on Thursday urged the international community, especially the European Union, to draw up new foundations for the peaceful process to guarantee a final solution to the Palestinian crisis, an end to the Israeli occupation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the borders of 1967 with Al Quds as its capital.

Hamdallah made the appeal during his meeting with British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

The Palestinian premier briefed the top British diplomat on the latest political and economic developments in the Palestinian territories and the Israeli violations against the Palestinian people.

He stressed the Palestinian leadership's commitment to the two-state solution.

More than 50 buildings have been demolished and over 170 residents have been displaced south of Hebron due to the Israeli threats, he added.
