Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met here today with the Netherlands Foreign Minister Yuri Rosenthal. Talks during the meeting dealt with developments in the region and the stalled Middle East peace process, stalled due to the Israeli intransigence. Earlier, the Palestinian president stressed the importance of probing into the new indicators related to the death of later Palestinian President Yasser Arafat, adding, in a joint news conference with his French counterpart Francois Hollande, " we want the resumption of investigations into the new indicators that could appear with respect to the Arafat martyrdom's issue. The discovery of traces of a radioactive agent on clothing reportedly worn by Yasser Arafat in his final days reignited a cauldron of conspiracy theories Wednesday about the mysterious death of the longtime Palestinian leader. Arafat's widow, who ordered the tests by a Swiss lab, called for her husband's body to be exhumed, and Arafat's successor gave tentative approval for an autopsy. But experts warned that even after the detection of polonium-210, getting answers on the cause of death will be tough.
