
Palestine's Prime Minister Rami Al-Hamadalla said that political and economic support, provided by the US, contributes to building the institutions of the Palestinian State and helps in fulfilling its obligations towards the citizens. This came at a meeting Hamadalla's held with the US Senator John McCain and his accompanying delegation, during which he briefed them on the developments of the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations. The two sides discussed several topics including "Kerry's" economic Initiative which is associated with the progress of the political process, the economic challenges facing the Palestinian government, and the importance of supporting Areas (C), especially that they may provide USD 3 billion a year for the Palestinian government in case it is able to invest it according to World Bank report. For his Part, McCain stressed the U.S. commitment to continuing to provide the necessary support to the Palestinian government in various sectors, affirming his country's continued efforts to reach a Palestinian-Israeli peace agreement.
