Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi held a meeting on Wednesday in Bkerké with a Syrian delegation including Mufti of Damascus Dr. Adnan Afyouni and Syria's Ambassador in Lebanon Ali Abdeklarkim. The two sides discussed the fraternal Syrian-Lebanese relations and the need to bolster Islamic-Christian fraternity due to its importance in protecting the two countries' social structure. Members of the delegation lauded the stances of Patriarch al-Rahi and his discuouse of unity and dialogue which consecrate coexistence and draw attention to looming dangers which call for a unified and responsible stance to confront Israel's hostile plots and instigation plans. The delegation welcomed the results of the summit hosted at Dar al-Fatwa in Lebanon and its closing statement which condemned sedition and practices that threaten coexistence.
