A "Syrian Civil Peace Assembly" was established at the Conference on Syrian Internal Peace taking place under the auspices of the Syrian National Coalition for Opposition and Revolutionary Forces. Opinion leaders approved by the Syrian people will serve at the "Syrian Civil Peace Assembly" and a committee made up of three members would represent each city. In a statement made, the chairman of the Organization Committee of the conference, Ziyad Abu Hamdan stressed that they formed a group so as to prevent certain problems in Syria once the Assad regime ended and the new administration would choose three members from each Syrian city so as to facilitate internal peace. The executive staff of the "Syrian Civil Peace Assembly" have been determined. Following the conference, officials to travel to Syria would elect other members. Members of the assembly will get in touch with all groups in Syria in three months and will determine opinion leaders respected by the Syrian society. -"We are against division of Syria"- Having been elected as the Chairman of the "Syrian Civil Peace Assembly", Dr. Muhammad Abulhayr Shukri underlined that they were against the division of Syria. We will be in touch with all groups in Syria and there will be a representative for every 200,000 Syrians in the assembly, Shukri stated. "All groups in our country must unite and act together. We wish to see dozens of organizations working for national peace in Syria. As the 'Syrian Civil Peace Assembly', we have not alienated any one," Shukri indicated. Dr. Abdulkerim Bekkar directed the conference. Many philosophers and intellectuals from various countries attended the conference.
