The pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) submitted a criminal complaint on Friday against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and a number of ministers.
The complaint is accusing them of preventing the HDP from exercising its political rights, insults and provoking people to commit a crime, Todays Zaman reported.
The party, which has been strongly criticized by top government officials in recent weeks, submitted the complaint to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Erdoğan's spokesperson İbrahim Kalın, Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ, Labor and Social Security Minister Süleyman Soylu and Deputy Prime Ministers Yalçın Akdoğan, Lütfi Elvan and Numan Kurtulmuş are the other figures against whom the HDP filed its complaint.
The other charges directed at these officials by the HDP are inciting the public to hatred and animosity and the limiting others' freedom of belief and freedom of expression. The HDP requested that a public case be filed against the officials.
