Jordan is keen to forge closer ties with Qatar, Jordan's Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour underlined. In an interview with the Qatari daily (al-Sharq), the Jordanian Premier lauded the distinguished relations between Qatar and Jordan in all fields. Premier Ensour reiterated gratitude and appreciation to the State of Qatar for its support for Jordan, noting the singing of the framework Memorandum of Understanding of Qatar's contribution to a $250 million annually as part of the grant endorsed by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to the Kingdom. The Prime Minister underlined that the relations between the two countries have been strengthened thanks to the efforts and visions of the leaderships of the two countries King Abdullah II of Jordan and HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. He highlighted Jordan's keenness to develop the economic cooperation with Qatar through holding regular meetings of the joint higher committee, stimulate the private sector to take advantage of the opportunities available in both countries and encourage the establishment of joint ventures.
