HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah headed a Cabinet meeting to discuss the financial and administrative situation of Kuwait Airways at Sief Palace on Thursday. On behalf of the attending ministers, State Minister for Cabinet Affairs and State Minister for Municipality Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdallah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah said that the meeting "illustrates the attention given to the matter by HH the prime minister, aimed at eradicating the legal, administrative and financial issues pertaining to the operation of Kuwait Airways." The meeting discussed procedures that would support the company in its bid to upgrade its fleet and fulfill its operational and service-related obligations. On this, the attendees raised a number of proposals on the best means to solve the company's predicaments. HH the prime minister, for his part, stressed the need to complete all legal procedures and tangible steps aimed at resolving the matter in the quickest time possible. He stressed that the issue should be carried out under the rule of law and in a manner that secures and cultivates public funds. The attending parties were given the responsibility of gathering the required solutions to the matter ahead of the Cabinet's next session. The meeting grouped ministers along with government officials and Kuwait Airways staff, including Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Mustafa Al-Shemali, State Minister for Cabinet Affairs and State Minister for Municipality Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdallah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, State Minister for Planning and Development Affairs and State Minister for National Assembly Affairs Dr. Rola Dashti, Minister of Communications and State Housing Minister Salem Al-Othaina, Minister of Commerce and Industry Anas Al-Saleh, Kuwait Investment Authority Managing Director Bader Al-Saad, head of the Fatwa and Legislation Department Faisal Al-Sarawim, Chairman and Managing Director of Kuwait Airways Sami Al-Nesf and several state officials.
