Police on Wednesday arrested a group of 5 people in the northern city of Ramtha while planning to infiltrate the Kingdom’s northern borders. The police said they acted on a tip-off and busted a house where they group was living in Torra town. The police seized a number of AK-47s with ammunition in possession of the group whose members were all Jordanians. The five persons admitted they had been planning to cross the Kingdom’s northern frontiers. One of the arrested was serving a 15-year prison sentence on terrorism charges in 2007 but was freed later under a special pardon. Investigation is still underway and further information to be announced soon, the police said.
