Police arrest 6 'jihadists' south west France

French police arrested six people southwest of the country accused of "recruiting jihadists and financing terror groups," Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said Sunday.
The six people were arrested in cities of Toulouse and Albi.
This operation took place five days after the arrest of eight people in Paris and Lyon on terror-related charges, Cazeneuve said in a statement.
He said these arrests were part of the French government's crack down on "jihadists and terrorism financing." French Prime Minister Manuel Valls has recently announced new security measures following the January 7-9 attacks in Paris that killed 17 people. Valls said new 2,680 security personnel would be hired over the next three years coupled with allocation of 425 million euros to fighting terrorism.
He said "there are around 3,000 people that should be monitored," and that there were suspects with links to people in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan and the Sahel region.
