
Pakistani police claimed on Wednesday the arrest of the mastermind behind the deadly bomb attack that killed at least nine people and wounded a senior Judge of the provincial high court in the southwestern Pakistani city Karachi. According to a senior police official, an operation carried out early Wednesday in Karachi's Surjani Town area; police arrested Bashir Leghari, suspected of being the mastermind of the attack on the judge's convoy last month, along with two of his accomplices. The official added that the operation was carried out with the help of an intelligence agency to arrest the culprit behind the bombing of June 26, which targeted senior Sindh High Court (SHC) judge Justice Maqbool Baqar. The suspect was injured in exchange of fire with the police, the official said. Moreover, police claimed to have recovered eleven children and arrested two alleged kidnappers during a raid in Gizri area of Karachi city. According to police, the children, aged between 8-15 years, were abducted from different parts of the city and they were being used for begging purposes during the holy month of Ramadan.
