Police evacuate residents after bomb threat in Irkutsk

Police and emergency department here evacuated residents of three houses in Irkutsk due to the bomb blast threat, the Interior Main Directorate press service reported on Thursday. A large-calibre shell has been found in a package near the dumpster, an Itar-Tass news agency report said quoting the press service. "Special policy bomb experts established that the dangerous trove is likely a 120-mm calibre artillery shell. The bore has tracks of corrosion. Sappers covered it by a special instrument, which blocks up the dispersion of shatters," the press service said. Law-enforcers encircled the territory and evacuated 42 residents of the nearest houses, including three children.
