Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa on Friday appeared on the street of Lisbon to sell a magazine which promotes social integration for marginalized communities.
Rebelo de Sousa wore a yellow vest and was accompanied by another two sellers of the magazine "Cais."
"The president is concerned about these socially more vulnerable people," Conceicao Cordeiro, Cais' executive director pointed out. "He (the president) will be the first to wear this vest, which used to be red and is now yellow."
Non-profit organization Cais has been working for over 20 years to integrate the homeless into society, and the awareness campaign took place to mark a new color for the magazine, which used to be red.
The organization supported around 500 people last year, with 45 people having been integrated into the labor market.
