President Erdogan calls French, Qatari and Saudi leaders

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has informed French, Qatari and Saudi leaders about Turkey’s ongoing anti-terrorist operations.

Erdogan gave the briefings over separate telephone talks with French President Francois Hollande, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud.

Presidential sources said that French, Qatari and Saudi leaders supported Turkey's efforts.  Erdogan told the leaders that Turkey would remain determined in its struggle against all forms of terrorism, including the terrorist organizations Daesh and the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).

The president also told the leaders that the chaos in Syria threatened Turkey’s national security.

The French, Qatari and Saudi leaders also offered their condolences to Turkey over the July 20 Suruc terrorist attack that left 32 people dead, and other attacks on Turkish police and army in recent days.

The French Presidency also said Monday in a statement that Hollande voiced his satisfaction over the international anti-Daesh coalition and Turkey’s struggle against Daesh.

Turkey last week launched airstrikes against Daesh and the PKK, which is listed as a terror organization by the U.S., the EU and Turkey.

Separately, Turkish police have detained a total of 1,050 people suspected of having ties with terrorist groups as Daesh, PKK and the far left Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C).
