President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi on Wednesday said that our battle with terrorism is decisive. "Our battle today with terrorism is crucial. We must wage it deservedly whatever the sacrifice may be," Hadi said in a letter he sent to congratulate the security and military leadership and the officers and soldiers of the military and security units in Hadramout for successful offensive launched against al-Qaeda in Hadramout. A military operation has been launched by the Yemeni army against al-Qaeda militants in Shahr and Ghail Bawazir districts, eastern Mukalla city of Hadramout governorate. According to a military official, the operation led to killing seven of al-Qaeda operative leaders and militants and wounding many others. In addition, one military officer was killed and five soldiers were injured. The troops also destroyed weapons stores and seized a number of explosives, vehicles and motorcycles that are used by al-Qaida militants in assassination operations, the official added. He underlined that the troops are still hunting the rest of the terrorists, who fled to adjacent farmlands.
