
President of National Institution for Human Rights, Abdul Aziz Hassan Abel met with U.S. Ambassador to Kingdom of Bahrain, Thomas Krajeski this morning at the (NIHR) headquarters in Seif District. During the meeting, President of (NIHR) welcomed U.S. Ambassador, reviewing the role of (NIHR) in spreading the culture of human rights, reinforcing and developing them, in addition to protecting those rights, and also the duties carried out by (NIHR), which are represented in following the complaints of citizens and residents concerning human rights. The President of (NIHR) also highlighted the role of the committees related to (NIHR) and represented in the Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee, and the Committee on Civil and Political Rights, as well as the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. For his part, U.S. Ambassador, Thomas Krajeski lauded the role of (NIHR) in raising the awareness of the culture of human rights, and asserting the importance of cooperation between the (NIHR) and the relevant parties in the area of human rights in United States of America.
