Presidential office urged to reveal truth behind chief auditor's resignation in Korea

The main opposition Democratic Party (DP) urged the presidential office Monday to reveal the truth behind the state chief auditor's abrupt resignation, citing allegations that the administration had meddled in the audit agency's affairs. Yang Kun, the chief of the Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI), offered his resignation last Friday amid controversy over the board's latest inspection into a river refurbishment project carried out under the previous Lee Myung-bak government.
