Prince Philip will travel to Toronto in April to present a new regimental flag to a battalion of the Canadian army, a military official says. Philip, 91, who has been the colonel in chief of the Royal Canadian Regiment since December 1953, will present the colors to the regiment's 3rd Battalion on April 27, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Wednesday. "The battalion is honored to receive its new regimental color from our colonel in chief," Lt. Col. David Quick, commanding officer of the battalion in Petawawa, Ontario, said. Quick said it would be "a proud moment" in the regiment's history. Regimental colors historically have been used as a rallying point for troops in battle. Prince Philip last visited Canada with Queen Elizabeth in the summer of 2010.
