
HRH Prince Zeid bin Ra'ad, the Permanent Representative of Jordan to the United Nations, said that the UN needs to do more to maintain the international peace and security, for which it was set up. In an open session at the UN Security Council (UNSC), the Prince said that stopping the killing is easier than ending the conflict and ending the conflict is considerably easier than ending it permanently. Earlier, the UNSC debated a discussion paper submitted by HRH Prince Zeid bin Ra'ad, the Permanent Representative of Jordan to the United Nations on the thematic subject "War, its lessons, and the search for a permanent peace", where more than 50 countries took part in the debate.
