
Supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi attacked personnel of the Republican Guards with stones on Monday, the official Middle East News Agency said. MENA said the activists gathered on Al-Tayaran and Yusu Abbas streets in Nasr City in eastern Cairo, hurling stones and other items at the personnel. Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry dispatched troops reinforcement to vicinity of the Republican Guards headquarters in a bid to bring the situation control, followed an armed attack and clashes that left at least 42 people dead. Elsewhere, firemen struggled to put out fire that erupted at a building housing a real-estate company on Al-Tayaran street. A military source said two soldiers who were kidnapped in Ain Shams managed to escape.
