President Rouhani's nominee for the post of Defense Minister, Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan, underscored that any hostile act against Iran will face the country's crushing response and endanger the aggressor's security and vital interests worldwide. "Iran's national security is faced with a collection of various threats, and an effective deterrence strategy which can convince the enemy that any hostile move would lead to a proportionate threat to its national interests and security is attained through a combination of hard and software actions," Dehqan said on Wednesday, addressing the Iranian lawmakers who are due to give him a vote of confidence most probably tomorrow. He said that his ministry's plans would be based on the aforementioned fact, that is to say efforts to develop an effective strategy of deterrence through a combination of hard and soft measures. Meantime, Dehqan underlined that although Iran has never attacked any country, it has always stood up to the aliens' aggression and made them regret their deeds. President Rouhani and his nominees for different cabinet posts attended the parliament on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for a vote of confidence to his 18 proposed ministers. The debate at the parliament will continue until Thursday afternoon.
