Staff of the Prosecutor General’s Office have finalized inspection of the Russian Academy of Sciences and forwarded the results to the Academy, a source at the Prosecutor General’s Office said on Friday. In early July, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin ordered Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika to check property management in sciences and education, including at the Russian Academy of Sciences. Chaika reported that in May his office had signed a cooperation agreement with the Academy. “Noteworthy, it was their initiative, as they realized they had problems in that issue, and primarily with the property.” On Thursday, the Russian Academy of Sciences’ President Vladimir Fortov said the prosecutors had finalized the inspection of the Academy’s property, and the results were due shortly.
